The Long Short Road:
Where Healing Takes Root

Our Story

A nonprofit transforming how we respond to mental health, crisis, and suicide prevention.

The Long Short Road began with a mission to address the teen suicide epidemic and has evolved into a global healing community that supports people of all ages and stages.

Our organization was born from a profound need. Founder Leigh Ioffe witnessed too many young lives lost to suicide, and too many moments when families and communities were at a loss. Out of that heartbreak grew a calling: to create spaces for healing, conversation, and connection that could save lives.

Since 2019, we have been walking this “long short road,” offering support, education, and hope to individuals, families, and communities.

Our name comes from a Chassidic parable: the “long short road” may not be the easiest path, but it is the one that truly leads home. For us, that means walking alongside people through crisis, healing, and resilience every step of the way.
